I’m Miriam, or just Miri.
I am a travel manager by day and a travel content creator by night.
I have spent the past ten years travelling the world, from Asia to Europe and Africa.
I was born in the Azores islands and grew up in Cascais near Lisbon, and in 2013 I decided to come to London to learn English, study and travel.
I started journaling my trips back in 2016 on my physical Travel Book and now I have decided to transfer all my travel tips and experiences to this blog where you can read, relate, share and use to plan.
The aim is to inspire solo and female travellers to explore remote areas and create amazing memoirs around the world.
I am proud to have built a successful life where I am able to balance a 9-5 and still travel our incredible world. Tag along and use this site travel guides and honest tips to plan your next trip.

More about me…
I was born in Azores islands, grew up in Cascais, near Lisbon in Portugal.
When I turned 19 years old, and I decided to move to the London to learn English and Travel.
Fast forward 10 years I am still based in London but more than ever I try to be between London and Lisbon and the rest of the world as much as possible.

THROUGH LIFE
2013 The beginning of my itchy feet
I moved to London to become as an au pair and learn English. The goal was to go to university one day and be able to communicate when travelling.
2014 Is solo travel my thing?
I went on my first solo trips around the UK and to Central Europe. It was great two years; I grew up a lot and I met incredible people from everywhere – got my first travel bug and never looked back since!
2015 Meeting my travel bud
2015 was one of my best years, I travelled a lot in the UK and in Portugal, got into university to study tourism at the end of the summer, and I met my boyfriend, Patrick.
2016 How Asia stole my heart
In 2016 I got hit hard by a massive travel bug. I went to Vietnam, and I drag P with me, to be honest he wanted to come too (ahah!), we spent 26 days in Nam, and loved every second of it.
I went back to the island I was born the first time after 16 years. Travelled Portugal with Patrick for the first time.
Ever since 2016 I haven’t stopped travelling or dreaming of travelling.
2017 Travel turmoil
In 2017 we sold everything and went to Thailand for 1 month and then Australia for 1 year.
In the mid of 2017 my travel plans didn’t go to plan already in Australia I became very ill which made our travel plans to stop. We had 6 months of travelling left and 6 more countries to visit. Unfortunately, I had to go back to Portugal. It was a very hard part of my life. Could not return to London, my travelling plans were on hold with no time frame, and I didn’t know if I would see P again. I spent 6 months in recovery back in Portugal until I was authorised by the doctors to go back to London and resume my life.
2018 If you want it, go and get it
By surprised of the doctors, I recovered quickly and was back in London within 6 months.
Coming back to London was all I wanted, coming back to travelling planning, London was by then my home away from home! With the resume of travel came a lot of Europe, a lot Italy, Spain and Portugal and many other plans for the future.
2019 Back out there
In 2019 was the year of going back to Asia again. I started solo travelling again first to Norway, then Spain, Portugal, Wales, Scotland and then some travelling with P to the Malta, Philippines and Hong-Kong!
2020 Make the most of what you have
We all know that 2020/21 was kind of a blur. I could not live the house what it seems f.o.r.e.v.e.r.
I was very lucky to fly to Portugal and stay there for 1 month and travelled throughout through Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, Almada, Sesimbra, Arabida, Setubal, Sines, Vila Nova de Milfontes, and the whole Algarve.
2021 Ready, steady, re-start!
2021 was a quite unpredictable and put a lot pressure on my travels. There was a lot planned and booked that was getting cancelled every week – Hungary, Sicily, France. Covid hit hard and I got all my flights cancelled. Re-planning: I used my year to re-educate myself, plan this blog and became an entrepreneur!
2022 Finding the right place to be
In 2022 I started working within the travel industry and focusing on transforming my travel journal into a blog. There is so much we can share on social media, and I started to feel that I wasn’t able to give total value.
I started working in the travel industry in London on a 9-5 and balance with my side business and travelling.
2023 Bucket list checking!!!
2023 was what I now am able to say the beginning of my adult travel journey. I went on mad adventures, the blog launch and so many new places to visit. I was very fortunate to be invited to travel to China and Brazil for work which scored high on my travel bucket list.
2023 was an amazing year when it comes to travels. I have now visited all 5 continents in the world.
2024 CRAZY Travel year!
From the beginning until the end! 2024 was the best year so far – 10+ trips (crazy how I lost count …) but it started with Edinburgh, Venice and Madrid and Lisbon in the first 2 months of the year! Went to back China twice (included seeing pandas and hiking the Great Wall of China!!), Brasil, visited India and in the end of the year went skiing for the first time and got ENGAGED to my best friend P all whilst finding out he is a pro at skiing!
